     In this week  main subject was describing a collaboration.  Collaboration I believe is a term used to describes groups of people from any background to come together to accomplish a main goal. In the ted talk we saw in class about Recaptcha and duolingo the owner of the software saw a flaw in the system that could that he believed needed to be fixed. His solution was to changed the way of how the software took the information that it was given and use it for a better purpose, such as translating books. This could be used as an example of collaboration as the company used the help of its consumers to find a better use of the product, but I believe that collaboration needs to have input from all party members. The consumers had no idea this new purpose was actually happening so can this example actually be used as collaboration?

Communities Of Practice

In our reading about cultivating communities of practice it talks about how organizations do a better job at improving itself  if certain individuals meet up after business hours to share information about technology. This meet up is called a tech club and I believe its a good way to collaborate. Toxic Gaming Toxicity in gaming has been a huge problem for gamers everywhere. If you play any competitive game you will most likely encounter some gamers who takes things to far. For instance getting ridiculed for not giving a good performance in a competitive match or not following the commands of other teammates can get you a nasty message sent to your inbox or getting called nasty names if the game supports voice chat. This puts other gamers in a predicament as they just want to play and don't care whether they win or lose. In the article we read in class "Can a video game company tame toxic behavior?" it uses the game league of legends as an example of the toxic environment in video games.
